Jenny Oswald and Karamfil: An International Circle Dance Ceilidh

A ceilidh with an international flavour. Dancing together in a circle to live music from Karamfil whose music draws upon a wide variety of styles and traditions from Eastern Europe. Circle Dancing is a community form of dance which encourages people to learn about the cultures of many countries including our own through music and dance. All the dances will be called and you don't need a partner. All ages and abilities welcome. TIme for tea and coffee and a chat at the break.

Alan (vocal, keyboard, guitar, piano, accodion) has been an ever present member of the Battlefield Band since a few months after its inception in 1969. The 'Batties' have been pre-eminent in Scottish traditional music for over 30 years, have toured all over the world and made almost 30 recordings. Rob (vocals, guitars, mandolin) is a guitarist of exceptional skill and subtelty. He was born in the Netherlands and begun playing guitar at an early age. As his interest in music developed, he became influenced by the best of Folk, Rock, R&B and Blues.
